million in private equity for a financial services company in arguably the
toughest economy since the Great Depression, and was promoted to director four
months after being hired into my first direct sales role.

businesses require a focus on prudent growth. My experience has taught me the
value of managing risk appropriately in times of growth and through
recessionary periods. At MBNA Canada, I was responsible for credit quality on a
portfolio that grew over 300% from 1999 through 2002. In 2001, the “.com bust”
and September 11th negatively impacted the Canadian economy. During this
period, we were able to maintain delinquency rates on our loans at the industry
average despite our high growth rate through constant underwriting and account
management strategy iterations, new technology, and improved process controls.
